Congratulations to the 2010 Intrepid Volunteer of the Year: Darryl Pascoe from StarJam—and all the incredible, inspiring other winners and nominees! Here are some pictures from the night.

Around one million can-do Kiwis volunteer their time to help 100,000 charitable causes each year, making  New Zealand one of the best volunteering nations on the planet. They don't ask for thanks, praise or recognition … so what better reason to thank, praise and recognise them?

The second annual Intrepid Volunteer of the Year Awards were held last night in the stunning surrounds of St Matthews in the City, Auckland. The mood was set with gorgeous soy candles from Ecoya. Volunteers and charity workers glammed up, enjoyed some lovely wine from Yealands Estate, nibbled delicious goodies from Kokako Organics and basked in their own glory for a change—with more than a few laughs from MC Te Radar along the way (he volunteered the 'h' in The Radar to Whanganui a few years back).

We all had an awesome time!

It was a really great night – the event, speakers, MC, catering were all tip top. You couldn’t have done better if you planned it that way!

Lovely joyful atmosphere – those Ecoya candles helped too.

The winners and nominees were an amazing and humble group of people. Just a wonderful night that left you with a warm glow!

Thanks for organising it all!

A great forum for acknowledging the people who do so much with no thought of reward or remuneration.   A feel-good evening with lots of celebration.  Thanks to everyone who made this happen.

What a slick event! It was really lovely to be amongst such amazing New Zealanders doing so much for their communities.  Very humbling and motivational.  We often forget to celebrate our work, thanks for giving us the opportunity to do so. We all appreciated the sense of occassion, the sponsors generosity and the chance to meet each other.
