Auckland action

Want to walk or ride across the Auckland Harbour Bridge? Join the club.

Getacross is getting active in Auckland, with 8000 supporters—and counting—for adding a cycle lane and walkway to the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

The outer lanes of the bridge (the “clip-ons”) are about to get a major upgrade, which means that cycle and walking lanes can be added. And it's now or never, reckons Getacross.

They've been campaigning for a while now, but need 2000 more sign-ups to reach the magic number (in this case, 10,000).

The Transit Board is taking it seriously, so if you've ever wanted to walk, run, ride, hop, skip or pogo your way across the Auckland Harbour Bridge, jump over to Getacross and sign up as a supporter.
