A truly sustainable home
Home » Blog » A truly sustainable homeGood reader Clara Arbizu and family created a gorgeous dolls' house entirely out of recycled materials found around the home.
Clara Arbizu writes:
During the summer holidays, the kids and I made this dolls' house on a shoestring (literally)—out of eight shoe boxes stapled together!
We used shoe box lids to make the roof, and strengthened it with bamboo canes. We cut out squares on the sides of the boxes to create windows and made curtains out of fabric offcuts.
Lego pieces and matchboxes upholstered with fabric scraps made the furniture, and we cut up old greeting cards to hang some artwork on the walls.
A fantastic activity for the school holidays—or a rainy weekend.
