Constantly on the hunt for quality makeup which is natural and environmentally friendly, Holly Jean Brooker was thrilled to discover a range of products by Byron Bay besties Luci Scarman and Amber Handley

Be in to win! Post a comment below with your favourite natural beauty tip to be in the draw to win an ECOminerals prize pack valued at $112. It includes ECOminerals foundation, a super-soft Kabuki Brush, an ECOminerals bronzer/blush duo and a makeup refill.

Luci and Amber are taking the world by storm with their range of 100 percent natural makeup products, ECOminerals. This energetic duo found a lack in the market for quality makeup that was both affordable and ethically responsible. Launched four years ago, ECOminerals products are now shipped across Australia, New Zealand and the USA, meeting the needs of an ever-growing market of environmentally savvy shoppers.

ECOminerals are naturally derived, using skin friendly ingredients to protect the skin. Free of bismuth, oxychloride, nanoparticles, talc and rice powder, as well as being vegan and cruelty-free, these products tick all the boxes. In an effort to fight packaging waste, ECOmineral powders and bronzers are sold alongside 100 percent biodegradable refills, which come in a unique powder pouch which is poured into your original container.

Their super-soft Kabuki Brush has a wooden handle, with a high quality washable fibre brush. As Luci says, “We went with these simply because we do not want animals killed for our brushes and because animal fibre is not washable – hence it’s not practical and doesn't last so long."

Luci’s passion for the environment overflows into her personal life as she takes a stance against packaging waste, striving hard to raise awareness among busineses owners to take responsibility for the packaging they are using for their products. She has started an eco-friendly packaging blog and a Facebook page to spark conversations about waste. She also regularly contacts companies and businesses about changing their packaging. Read more about ECOminerals at their website.

I totally love the sound of ECOminerals.
My beauty tip isn't a new one, but it is my mainstay, tried, tested, and terrific.
Once you've cracked and emptied your organic free range egg, scoop out the egg white albumin that remains in the shell and smear on your face. It shrinks pores, increases collagen, removes black heads, and deep cleanses. I love that this doesn't take effort, it can easily be incorporated into cooking breakfast (just remember to rinse).

My favourite natural beauty tip has to be diy face masks. Its super easy to do at home, and if you make it yourself you can ensure only the best ingredients go into it. My personal favourite is a fairtrade banana and locally sourced honey mix, but there are plenty online you can use to suit your skin types.

I learned my new favourite eco-tip from my friend Rohan, who is really into raw food. He makes almond milk by blending, soaking  and straining almonds. The tiny dry flakes of almonds leftover from the process make an amazing face scrub. Gorgeous almond oil and a natural exfoliant in one...

Also, I wash my hair in a solution of 1T baking soda with 1 cup lukewarm water. I then condition with 1 T apple cider vinegar in 1 cup lukewarm water. It's amazing - the ACV makes your hair feel soft and lush just like 'real' conditioner. And bonus - the solutions will also help keep your shower clean!

After removing make up and washing your face, rinse in cold water to help close the pores and tighten the facial muscles.

Sounds cheesy but SMILING never fails to reveal the beauty within. Some of the best therapy is having a side aching, cheek bursting, seemingly endless belly laugh! I always try to have one night out a month with the girls - whether its seeing a flick or stumbling over bowling balls in some dodgy bowling alley. Giggles might increase your laugh lines but better that than your frown lines ;o)

My eco-beauty tip: Keep sun exposure to an absolute minimum. Nonsundamaged skin looks so much softer oh and water - moisturise from the inside :)

I massage sweet almond oil into my face, hands, neck etc once a week before bed to soothe my dry skin. It is also great for baby massage and is inexpensive and non-toxic.

my favourite eco make up tip is to use eyeliner pencils that are encased in  wood, not covered in plastic, wood shavings have the potential to biodegrade whereas plastic does not.

If your skin is sensitive or just looking irritated and puffy for some reason, steep a bag of green tea for a minute or two, let it cool down, and dab it over your face.

Use henna rather than chemical hair dyes (especially if you are a brunette), the vinegar you mix and prepare the henna in make a fantastic old school hair treatment for naturally shiny hair.

Your hairdresser will be really impressed & struggle to promote their colouring products to you any more when they see the results : )

Two things I keep in my bathroom are apple cider vinegar for a mouthwash as 1tsp in 1/4 glass of water or to dab on spots etc(plus many other uses) and a jar of fine oatmeal to use as a water softener in a muslin bag over the bath or as a body/facial scrub in the shower.

clean water, colourful fresh fruit and vege, exercise in fresh air (with sunscreen) and keeping in touch with the grounding physical world- the beach, bush, or backyard even... don't always achieve this in a busy life, but the feel good, look good, benefits are tops when I do!

A wonderful muscle relaxant bath soak after a workout or just a rough day is 4 handfuls each of epsom salts and salt dissolved into your steaming hot bath. Soothing and cheaps as chips!! Was going to do the oatmeal one but I see someone has beaten me also great for relieving itchy exczema skins. Oldies but real GOODies!!

Favourite beauty tip - juice of half a lemon squeezed in a glass of warm water first thing in the morning - excellent source of vitamin C which we know is good for the collagen in skin, and of course hydration. Smile.

A terrific exfoliating skinscrub can be made mixing sea salt with olive oil in the palm of your hand. Gently rub in circular motions anywhere & everywhere skin is feeling dry or rough.I especially love this in winter. It is really quick to do just as a hand exfolliant while you are in the kitchen cooking. Skin feels instantly smooth & deliciously soft. You can also use raw sugar instead of salt if you need a bit of sweetening up...!

To relieve sunburn & take the red out, take a lukewarm bath in black tea. Steep leaves or bags and then add to the bathwater. The tannin takes the red out & the enzymes soothe & relieve the sting & cool the skin. A better tip is to never go out in the sun without protction. Green tea bags placed on closed eyelids will remove puffiness.

You cant go past drinking plenty of water, it the BEST thing you can do for your skin, well hydrated skin will help you defy the ageing process! you don't need 8 glasses a day but make the switch from fizzy drinks and your skin will thank you for it in no time!

The most 'natural beauty' tip I could give is: "SMILE"! :)
Be HAPPY, and allow all your wrinkles to end up in the right place, bringing pleasant-ness to your face and your character and let your beauty shine!
Put a smile on your dial, and relax a while, with cucumbers over your eyes, egg and strawberry-whip on your face, then with a refreshing spray of orange-spritz and finally finishing with a creamy lather of pure-organic Shea butter!
(sounds like fancy restaurant dining :))
Enjoy!!!

Hi Lots of water is a given & paw paw ointment  is great for so many things but if you put it on your lips it keeps them silky smooth & makes a great lipgloss enjoy!! don't forget sunscreen prevention is better than cure :-)

My top beauty tip is to sleep on your back because this will prevent many wrinkles and breakouts on your face - therefore leaving you a more natural beauty :)

This has worked for me (combination skin) and my husband (oily skin). It evens out my skin tone, prevents spots, and leaves my face baby bum soft by morning:

As part of the get-ready-for-bed routine:
1. Rinse/wash face
2. Juice a bit of lemon into a cotton pad
3. Apply lemon to entire face and neck
4. Hit the hay
5. Wake-up, rinse, and apply a little moisturiser

That's it!

A very old book belonging to my grandmother suggested sugar, olive oil and lemon juice as a scrub for hands but it also would work anywhere on the body - it really makes them feel smooth. I don't use it on my face - I think it could be a bit too abrasive - but baking soda mixed with a little bit of face cleanser, used as a scrub, really makes my face glow.

One beauty tip is to mash an avocado and put it in your face like a mask for about 20min and put some used chamomile tea bags in your eyes while you have it on, go to your bed and relax lying on your back, you'll look fresh and rejuvenated after that (remember to rinse it off!)

Hey. What if i have more than one tip?!?

1) if you have dandruff it can be a sign of PARASITES - and dont go yuck cos 1 in 4 NZers have some sort of infestation going on. Buy a good brand of essentail Tea Tree oil - I use Living Young - and swallow a few drops before you brush your teeth, and add a few drops to your shampoo before massaging into scalp. Any bug HATES tea tree oil. Much cheaper, eco friendly and safer for your body than the chemical killers on the mainstream market. You can use it to clean cuts and on breakouts too!

2) Invest in a good quality Evening Primrose Oil (I use Melrose Organic). Lavish it on your face. Balances hormones so imagine! - yes an OIL that will STOP your breakouts!! And after 20 years of flaking skin I have the smoothest complexion, and no bags under my eyes. Proven to be the most effective natural oil on the market... Ditch the over-reputed Bio-Oil (check out the ingredients that should convince you) and beautify yourself and minimise the stretch marks! Yep there is hope :-)
