Home » Blog » Rebekah White » Rainy weather antidote

Winter's officially begun and we're all about embracing the best things of the season ... like mugs of decadent hot chocolate on a chilly evening.

We've got ten boxes of truly scrumptious drinking chocolate from Equagold to give away. Simply leave a comment telling us your favourite winter indulgence!

Each box of The Ultimate Indulgence Drinking Chocolate comes with its own bottle of Vanilla Pulse – a concentrated pure vanilla extract which gives the drink a velvety, smooth flavour. Each 500g box makes between 15-20 drinks.

Hot chocolate is definitely a fantastic winter drink, complete with homemade cookies, by the fire (or heat pump!). But for my ultimate winter comfort food, I would always choose apple crumble with custard and runny cream. Mmmmm. Must make one tonight! I have some cooking apples at the moment!

Hot chocolate is a key ingredient in my favourite winter indulgence - day and night by the camp fire!

It may be wet at the crag or choppy on shore but I never feel guilty spending twenty-four hours at camp - toasty naps, big laughs, beer, butties and beans. Another log, another up dog and hot cocoa. Perfection!

Buying all the ingredients for a satistfying roast dinner including all the trimmings like home made Yorkshire pudding, gravy, mint sauce, and then something like a sticky date pudding afterwards... it leaves you totally full but satisfied ready to curl up and go to bed early and read that juicy book that you have been dying to get into since summer or that DVD you promised yourself that you would watch!  Not forgetting some homemade popcorn of course :-D

My favourite winter indulgence is a hot jacket potato, with a dab of butter and a heap of grated tasty cheese.  Whenever I have this, it reminds me of cold, frosty Bonfire Night parties back in my home town of Tewkesbury when I was young.  A bite of a hot jacket potato is guaranteed to both warm and cheer you up.
