Let's go shopping! (Fair trade, of course)
Home » Blog » Sarah Heeringa » Let's go shopping! (Fair trade, of course)Fair Trade Fortnight (May 1–16) means two weeks of nationwide activities and events nationwide that will raise awareness about fair trade and highlight the importance of making good choices when you shop.
Shopping ethically, lowering your carbon footprint, enjoying guilt-free goodies from around the world ... there are loads of great reasons to buy fair trade. And there's never a better time to start than during the annual Fair Trade Fortnight.
The theme this year is The Big Swap. This is the moment for Kiwis up and down the country to go bananas and swap their usual products for fair trade stuff. It’s a brilliantly small step to making the world a fairer place.
Get your office, your classroom, your faith group, your book club or your community group involved and help make this the biggest and best Fair Trade Fortnight yet!
Join in with something that's happening near you (see below for ideas) or get creative by planning your own event. Then you can enter the inaugural Fair Trade Fortnight Supporters Awards.
