Upcycle your favourite old plates or other bits and bobs lying about to make a gorgeous vintage-looking cake stand.

  • For step-by step instructions, go here.
  • You can use old plates, bits of candle stick or even old glasses. See left for Andrea L's example using a vintage Swedish plate and 1980s glass tumbler.
  • Or check out this one from Natasha Burns that incorporates an old brass lamp base
  • And here's a weddingish one with crystal do-dads.

  • Once you've made your multi layered cake stand-all you need is a perfectly made cup of tea, some tasty cupcakes or fairly delicious chocolate goodies.
