The price of freedom

October 17–31 marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

PovertyTwo dollars is less than most of us spend on a cup of coffee, yet that's what more than two billion people around the world must survive on every day.

Fairtrade is a label that ensures farmers and producers in developing countries a fair price, while supporting them to invest in schools, hospitals, their communities and businesses—along with environmentally sustainable practices.

I've just pledged to spend $2 a day on Fairtrade products from October 17–31 to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and I'd love you to join me!

Coffee, chocolate, tea, peanuts … there are heaps of delicious options.

Here's what you can do:

  • Check out the the campaign website to see what it’s all about and to make your pledge.
  • Tell your friends, family and colleagues and encourage them to get onboard.
