Colourful vegetables, yummy preserves, fresh fish and a fantastic community vibe. Farmers' markets are a wonderful place to buy local produce, usually directly from the person who grew, baked or bottled it.
The Grey Lynn Farmers' Market is community owned and operated and has the aim of making sustainability a success for their community.
On Saturday December 19 it is holding a Twilight Market, selling a wide range of produce and offering live entertainment too.
It'll be a good chance to stock up on goodies like vegetables, fruit and meats for the Christmas table and perhaps pick up some olive oil, fudge or preserves for giving as gifts.
The market will be open from 6pm to 9pm at the Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Road.
The Grey Lynn Farmers' Market is normally held on Sunday mornings from 8am to midday except for the last Sunday of the month. They will begin again in the new year with a Midsummer Market on January 17.
