A video and pictorial summary of Ride Planet Earth
It wasn’t as big as the 350 Big Bike Ride but it was just as fun. And we got a round of applause from the crowd gathered for the Planet A march at Albert Park!
The crowd was a good mix of familiar faces and a some new people who wanted to give cycling a go. And gave it a go they did!
If there’s one thing I love about mass rides like this—other than claiming the roads for a couple of hours—is the social aspect of it. Try driving up to a car you fancy and then chatting to the owner about it.
I managed to shoot a longer video of the ride on my handlebar-mounted camera. The mount is still a little rough around the edges but you can’t beat the $3 price tag for a little DIY project.
Warning: Don’t watch if you get motion sickness. In which case, you might like to look at the a small collection of photos I managed to snap in between traffic lights instead:
Happy cycling, everyone!
