5 Podcasts to Enrich Your Self-Isolation Experience

With everything going on in the world, it is important to not dwell on the negatives but to appreciate the positives.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there have been several positives we’ve forgotten about. We’re able to spend more time with our loved ones while in self-isolation, and we’re focusing on our health and wellbeing more than ever before. There’s even been a decrease in carbon emissions.

If you have been asked to self-isolate or you just enjoy spending time at home, here are five fabulous podcasts that are perfect for listening to while snuggled up with a cuppa!

How Did This Get Made?

It couldn’t be a better time to indulge in some light-hearted comedy, and this particular podcast will have you in bits. Hosts Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas sit down to try and make sense of the movies that don’t make sense. With exceptional wit and sarcasm, the trio deconstructs and mocks the world’s most iconic films, making a perfect podcast for those who to love to hate crappy movies.

The Missing

If you are looking for something else to focus your mind on at the moment, what’s better than a true-crime series? Unknown to many, a staggering 38,000 missing person reports are made in Australia each year, which equates to one report every 15 minutes. This true-crime podcast, hosted by former policeman now journalist Meni Caroutas, unravels the cases of missing people and shares the emotional journeys of their families and friends.

Stuff You Should Know

Earth duo Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant take subjects many of us are not overly interested in and transform them into intriguing topics of conversation. Creator and host Shawn Stevenson discusses almost every topic imaginable in regards to the human body, brain and the pursuit of achieving your best life. He does so with such an easy-going style that listeners are still able to multi-task.

Making Sense

Last, but by all means, not least, five is Making sense, a podcast dedicated to the human mind, society and current events.
