6 wineries to visit in West Auckland

Kiwis are known to be avid winemakers and drinkers and with more than 500 wineries throughout the country, it would be hard to not indulge in our top-quality vino. Whether it’s a girls’ trip, a family celebration, or just a fun day out, visiting one of the many wineries within New Zealand is a must-do and now more than ever would be a great support to our local tourism industry.

In the hope that more Kiwis will ‘support local’, a group of local and passionate wine makers have come together to create Wineries out West, a collaboration dedicated to showcasing the best of the awarded wine region, West Auckland.

The collaboration venture comes as an opportunity to showcase the historical story of the wine region as it has experienced massive change throughout the years. West Auckland has been at the forefront in developing new wine styles, trialing new grape varieties and importantly, developing and growing new international markets.

Wineries out West invites locals to visit wine regions from across New Zealand without ever leaving Auckland. They offer casual or group wine tastings, café and restaurant dining through to picnic options, all set within picturesque surroundings.
