Good magazine attended the official opening of L’Oreal New Zealand’s L’Oreal Academy in Auckland on June 12.
The Academy will provide specialised training for New Zealand’s beauty professionals.
“Beauty education is at the heart of L’Oreal and part of our responsibility as an ethical leader in beauty,” said L’Oreal New Zealand executive general manager Martin Smith.
The global skincare company was named as the World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute for the eighth time!
In addition to being a world class training facility, well-considered choices went into the Academy’s fit out to create an inspirational, sustainable and digital environment. With L’Oreal’s mantra to Reduce, Recycle and Reuse, and to support local artisans wherever possible, the project partner was Platform Group with interior design led by Tama Moore.
A bespoke mural by artist Flox celebrates New Zealand’s native birds, flora and fauna.
Sustainability is not only evident in the materials and finishes, but extends to the use of energy-efficient LED and sensor lighting, efficient whiteware, extensive insulation and responsible water processes for a low environmental impact.
It also features a bespoke mural by celebrated New Zealand artist Flox featuring native birds, ferns and flowers in a salute to New Zealand’s precious flora and fauna.
The Academy is located in Federal St, Auckland CBD.
