A touching comedy set on a French chicken farm

This ‘David and Goliath’ story set in the French countryside will have you clucking with approval.

When a co-op of organic egg chicken farmers receive the news that their distributor is cutting them loose, Brittany chicken farmers are in despair.

Facing ruin and life as they know it, some of the farmers begin protesting, others drown their sorrows at the local pub, but one man, Raymond (played by Guillaume de Tonquedec), with his faithful pet chicken Roxane takes a different approach.

Inspired by his Aunt who introduces him to the YouTube “buzz”, Raymond sets out to save his farm on social media with Roxane as his co-star. Inspired by his favourite play Cyrano de Bergerac, which he reads to his chickens daily, he takes things a step further – taking Cyrano de chicken to the YouTube screen and tapping into his once hidden passion for theatre.

Not everyone is a fan but it hatches some surprising results.

A heart-warming comedy/drama, Roxanne, will have you laugh, cry and smile. In cinemas from January 9.
