Allbirds opens their first New Zealand store in Auckland.

Auckland is the lucky location for Allbirds’ first New Zealand store. Opening on 15 August 2019, all your favourite Allbirds will adorn the walls in a space where whimsy and innovation collide.
The intriguing mirrors are shaped like cartoon clouds, gestures of the peace sign and even a flowing interpretation of a foot. They lean at all the right angles to get the perfect view of what the Allbirds look like on your feet.
Tree products line one wall, while the wool products line the opposite wall — there’s even a showcase of the materials that are used to make the shoes you know and love.
Allbirds started back in 2014 when founder Tim Brown saw the opportunity to integrate New Zealand Merino wool into footwear. With a research grant in hand from the New Zealand government, Brown went about developing a durable Merino wool textile built for footwear. The Wool Runner was born a few short years later thanks to Brown, San Francisco renewables expert Joey Zwillinger and Allbirds’ Head of Design Jamie McLellan.
Nowadays the Allbirds range includes the original wool products as well as a tree range, which utilises responsibly grown and sustainably harvested eucalyptus pulp. And to top it all off, Allbirds’ shoelaces are even 100 per cent recycled polyester. Limited-edition Auckland-inspired laces are also available at the new Auckland store in three colourways: Waiheke Island Teal, Light Path Magenta and West Coast Black Sand.
Adding to their offerings in August 2019 is the Allbirds range of Trino Socks, which use a mix of trees and wool. They come in three styles: Trino Hiders (which are great for your low-cut Tree Skippers), Trino Quarters and Trino Tubers. Comfort within comfort!
To visit Allbirds in person, head to 5 Gore Street in Auckland, Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
