Love Revolution Shoe by Po-Zu

In aid of The Fashion Revolution Foundation, ethical shoe brand Po-Zu has launched the Love Revolution Shoe ahead of Fashion Revolution Week (22-28 April).

Inspired by those campaigning for a fairer, more sustainable fashion and footwear industry, Po-Zu have designed a Love Revolution shoe especially for Fashion Revolution Week, with £5 (around NZ$9.70) from every sale being donated to The Fashion Revolution Foundation.

The shoe was designed by Po-Zu founder and creative director Sven Segal in collaboration with author, activist and entrepreneur Safia Minney MBE.

Po-Zu says the footwear industry has a history of being pollutive, as well as being an industry that involves toxic chemicals and abuses human rights, particularly in the developing world.

Segal’s focus is to change the way the footwear industry runs. The Love Revolution shoe is vegan friendly, and has been created in a family run factory in Sri Lanka using organic cotton, Fairtrade locally tree-tapped natural rubber and a coconut fibre foot mattress.

“As consumers, brands and activists, we all need to protest against the harmful effects of the footwear industry. By showing that shoes can be made in a sustainable way with respect to people and [the] planet, we can support local communities and build livelihoods through fair trade whilst showing the link between the people who make our shoes and the people who wear them,” Segal says.
