Making the most of summer

Looking for things to fill your summer weekends with? The Federal Street Festival in Auckland’s CBD is worth a visit. 

If you’re looking to switch up the beach this week with delicious food, cool drinks, stellar Kiwi music and fun family events, then The Federal Street Festival in the heart of Auckland city is worth checking out. 

The two-day event is taking place this Friday and Saturday and celebrates SKYCITY Auckland’s 20th birthday. 

Federal Street will transform into a pedestrian only area to make way for a festival line up, which includes popular musical acts such as P Money, Diggy & Laughton and Weird Together Soundsystem who will be supported by further DJs and artists. 

The finest street food and refreshments will be available for purchase with pop ups of SKYCITY Auckland’s popular outlets, including Bellota, Federal Delicatessen, Gusto at the Grand, The Grill by Sean Connolly, MASU, Andy’s Burgers and Bar, and more, with something for everyone.

Kids will have a great time at the festival too with balloon artists, face painters, bubble performers and cupcake decorating on Saturday from 2pm. It’s also an event for sports fans to attend, as players from the SKYCITY Breakers, SKYCITY Mystics, Blues and Vodafone Warriors also at the festival to sign autographs and get amongst the fun.

The festival will be open on Friday 22 January, 4pm – 10pm, and Saturday 23 January, 2pm – 10pm.
