Love fashion? If you’re in Auckland between March 29 to April 1 then you’re in for a treat. Back again for its sixth year, Fashion in the City is set to transform central city streets, lanes, stores and shared spaces into runways, workshops, exhibitions, pop-ups, sustainable fashion markets, movies, exhibitions, live photo shoots and more for both men and women.
More than 30 stores, designers and institutions will be involved in 2017 with the lineup of events gaining more attention from overseas each year. This year, Australian fashion blogger and influencer Carmen Hamilton will be a marquee guest and will cover the event series and shine a global light on the growing local landscape.
Another highlight event will be the Smith & Caughey’s fashion show ‘The Last Friday in March’ which will star transgender model Andreja Pajic direct from New York. The show is free and open to the public from midday on Friday March 31 at Smith & Caughey’s on Queen Street.
