April’s Clean Beauty Picks

We talk to Sephora New Zealand Artistry Lead Alphie Sadsad to find out his favourite clean beauty picks. All products listed are cruelty free and vegan.

Alphie believes in taking a common sense approach to clean beauty. “If a product is intended to stay on your skin all day (like a moisturiser) and it’s covering a large surface area like your face and body, then you should try to find a cleaner alternative.”

While clean beauty is a spectrum, a case can be made that particular ingredients should be avoided altogether, including parabens, synthetic fragrances, petroleum, talc, and silica.

Here are Alphie’s top 5 products that he uses as part of his daily routine.

Tata Harper Beautifying Oil

During the colder months, our skin tends to be dryer. Alphie loves adding an oil to help boost and lock in moisture. “Tata Harper is full of antioxidants which brightens my complexion and gives me the radiance that I don’t get during winter”.

Dr Roebucks No Worries Hydrating Face Moisturizer

The holy grail of moisture, Alphie uses this product on everyone – from oily to dry skin. It’s lightweight enough while still super hydrating, and great for makeup prep.

WelleCO Super Elixir Green Powder Supplement

Part of Alphie’s morning routine, this product supports the gut and immune system, enhances energy, helps the appearance of healthy glowing skin, and strengthens hair and nails.

NudeStix Tinted Cover

Available in 14 shades, this everyday foundation allows Alphie’s skin to shine through. It’s a step up from tinted moisturiser and more than just a traditional foundation. Its lightweight minerals blend with your natural tone rather than mask it.

Bite Beauty Changemaker Flexible Coverage Pressed Powder

Alphie uses this product for almost everything. It’s great for use on its own as a foundation, to help build coverage, for setting foundation, or to bronze (by choosing a deeper shade).
