Following the recent buzz around the meditation app Calm and its incorporation of famous voices reading bedtime stories, it’s no secret that many of us turn to music, podcasts, and audiobooks to help us fall asleep.
With this in mind, the experts at TheDozyOwl.co.uk were keen to investigate which celebrity voices we find the most soothing to help send us to sleep.
To do this, TheDozyOwl asked 3,488 people which celebrities have the most soothing voices. Then, a list of the top 20 celebrities was collated and surveyed to see which celebrity has the ultimate voice to send us to sleep.
At the top of the list is the United Kingdom’s national treasure, Sir David Attenborough. Securing 89% of the votes, the environmental activist, broadcaster and natural historial was voted the most soothing voice to fall asleep to.
Following closely behind in second place is American rapper and personality, Snoop Dogg with 83% of the votes. Good readers, you may be interested to know that like Sir David, Snoop Dogg is also on a mission to save the planet, bringing awareness to the fight against single-use plastic bottles.
Making the top 20 list of famous soothing voices include Benedict Cumberbatch (59%), Louis Theroux (57%) and Idris Elba (56%), and rounding off the top 20 includes former US President Barack Obama with 46%, actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio with 41% and the Queen of Dragons, Emilia Clarke with 39% of votes.
Here at Good we’re big fans of number one on the list, Sir David Attenborough, for his dedication to environmentalism and his work around climate change. He even features on a special edition of the BBC’s Mindful Mix to help alleviate anxiety, which includes his voice amongst calming music and transporting soundscapes. The special edition will be available online soon. In the meantime, you can listen to existing episodes of Mindful Mix here, or listen to Sir David’s voice in the below video.
