Handbag brand brings circular wardrobe platform to New Zealand

Duffle&Co is the first brand in New Zealand to sign up to AirRobe, providing shoppers with an online solution to fashion waste.

Duffle&Co is the first Aotearoa apparel brand to integrate tech platform AirRobe at checkout, allowing customers to rent and re-sell items purchased at a later date.

Dubbed the Airbnb for clothing, AirRobe’s mission is to enable consumers to borrow and buy or rent and sell clothing through a network of designers and retailers, essentially transitioning e-commerce into ‘re-commerce’. Brands featured on the platform include Bassike, Camilla and Marc, Gucci and Aje.

We know that today’s fashion essentially becomes the waste of tomorrow, which is why Duffle&Co wanted to encourage their customers to build circular wardrobes.

Emily Long, COO of Duffle&Co, comments, “being Founding Partners of AirRobe means we can offer New Zealanders a real incentive to purchase mindfully. We’ve been looking for a solution to make our business model circular, so integrating this tech to Duffle&Co just makes sense! It’s good for the planet and good for your purse!”

Hannon Comazzetto, Founder of AirRobe, says, “I believe that we can work together to build new value into a troubled fashion industry. One that focuses on reusing, recycling, and re-selling fashion to create a circular re-commerce system. The solution is simple. With one platform the fashion industry, designers, and shoppers can work together as a community to create a new economy.”

Duffle&Co creates handcrafted luxury bags that don’t compromise on ethical and sustainable values. Each item is hand-signed by the person that made it, and each purchase plants five mangrove trees.
