KiwiHarvest and Silo Park are hosting a food event dedicated to utilising rescued food.
Combining delicious food with educating about avoidable food waste, Silo Park and KiwiHarvest have teamed up and created the event Kai with a (re)Purpose on 16 March 2019, 12-6pm at Silo Park.
KiwiHarvest works to reduce food waste, and they collect food that places like supermarkets, cafes and farmers markets haven’t sold. They get this food to members of the community who need it.
The Kai with a [re]Purpose event will see an array of food trucks park up to serve up yummy dishes using food that would otherwise go to waste. The food trucks confirmed so far include Pie Piper, Judge Bao, Hangi Master, Rolling Pin and Lalele Organic Gelato.
The other great thing is that a percentage of all sales will go back to KiwiHarvest to help them keep doing what they do.
To see if any changes to the event occur due to unexpected weather, and to see if more food trucks are confirmed, keep an eye on the event’s Facebook page.
