Karen Walker Eyewear’s limited edition Superstars range for 2016 lands in-stores today, June 3.
Walker’s new limited edition collection released every year celebrates her most famous styles and reinvents them in new colour ways. The new styles for 2016 feature cult favourites HARVEST and SUPER DUPER, alongside fresh shapes such as ONE ORBIT, MOON DISCO, COSMONAUT and STAR SAILOR.
With astronaut inspired colour ways, this season the Superstars collection features; Classic Black, Crazy Tort, and an injection of yellow and rose gold mirror with metal detail to match.
Good recently covered Karen Walker’s involvement in the Ethical Fashion Initiative (Good March/April). Her collection of limited edition summer tote bags and a clutch featured intricate beadwork by the Massi and Samburu tribes in East Africa, as well as embroidery and hand screen-printing. The artisans undertook extra training to perfect the moulding of the brass bells that adorned each bag. The making of the bags provided work for 216 artisans from nine communities.
