Moët & Chandon Celebrates Grandeur & Generosity

Last night Moët & Chandon, the champagne of success and glamour, honoured five aspirational New Zealanders at the exclusive red-carpet Moët Gold Party in Auckland.

Last night Moët & Chandon, the champagne of success and glamour, honoured five aspirational New Zealanders at the exclusive red-carpet Moët Gold Party in Auckland. The Moët Gold accolade was awarded to individuals who have displayed success in the spirit of grandeur and generosity during 2017.

The Moët Gold honourees included young fashion designer Maggie Marilyn Hewitt, innovative entrepreneurs Donielle Brooke and Aiden Bartlett – founders of online fashion site Designer Wardrobe, Olympic athlete and Black Stick Rose Keddell and entrepreneur Michael Goudie, of Clooney Club (pictured in hero image).

Each honouree has accomplished a range of phenomenal milestones in 2017, such as Maggie Marilyn, who has launched three seasons in the past year and is now stocked internationally at Saks, Nieman Marcus and Net a Porter, and Designer Wardbrode for raising $1.7M from investors and reaching a key milestone earlier this month with the launch of their first rental store front.

“It is an absolute privilege to be recognised as one of Moët & Chandon’s Gold Honourees this year along with the other outstanding New Zealanders. Our brand has had quite a successful year launching into international markets, so I’m looking forward to see what’s in store for 2018. It’s all about paying it forward, so I’m thrilled that as part of the accolade we are supporting The Ākina Foundation,” said Maggie Hewitt founder of label Maggie Marilyn. This year Moët & Chandon has teamed up with The Ākina Foundation, a New Zealand organisation focused on growing social enterprise by supporting young entrepreneurs. As part of the accolade, each honouree has donated bespoke items, all are being auctioned off for The Ākina Foundation on TradeMe (click here to see the auctions). Items include an outfit from Maggie Marilyn, a VIP subscription to designer wardrobe, a signed 2017 Black Sticks Jersey, one-on-one training session with Rose Keddell and an exclusive year subscription to Clooney Club.

The auction closes on 10 December and the public are encouraged to bid in support of The Ākina Foundation over the next two weeks.

Dubbed as the event of the year, the Moët Gold Party took place at the iconic Clooney restaurant, and will be one of the last parties before the venue closes its doors in the New Year. Guests included several of New Zealand’s top entrepreneurs, sportspeople, and socialites.
