This denim collection features innovative cottonized hemp fabric

Celebrating the latest in sustainability and design innovation, is this Levi’s most iconic collaboration yet?

Beloved denim brand Levi’s has teamed up with Danish fashion label for the second time. Building on a previous upcycled and rental-only collection, the present collaboration is a celebration of both brands’ efforts towards responsible fashion and innovation in design.

The denim used in the collaboration is crafted from cottonized hemp. This hemp is rain-fed which significantly reduces the use of water in comparison to cotton, and is treated in a way that softens — or “cottonizes” — the hemp fibers, making it look and feel indistinguishable from cotton.

This is not the first time Levi’s has innovated using sustainable fabrics. Its Wellthread Recycled Denim is constructed from Circulose, a “breakthrough” material made from worn-out jeans and organic cotton.

Creative Director of GANNI, Ditte Reffstrup, echoes the sustainable ethos of the collaboration with Levi’s when she says “the collection is all about timeless pieces that you want to wear over and over again. It’s classic denim with a few playful details that just get even better with time. We hope people will wear them forever”.

The 14-piece ready-to-wear collection of dresses, shirts, jackets, jeans, T-shirts and sweatshirts is available to buy on GANNI.com, Levi.com, Levi’s® and GANNI stores globally as well as through select wholesale partners.
