What We Love

To remind ourselves of the good in the world, we’ve compiled a list of what’s happening, and good things in general. Enjoy, and if you discover something good, let us know!

1. Haircare packaging made from recyclable Sugarcane

Beauty Dust Co.’s Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner just keeps on getting better!

Their formulations are now packaged in recyclable Sugarcane bottles. This reduces the company’s carbon footprint while they continue their endless venture to be completely friendly for our planet.

The shampoo has been updated to produce an incredibly satisfying rich lather, and the peachy pink conditioner is super nourishing. Here’s to good hair days every day!

Beauty Dust Co.’s products tick all the boxes (non-toxic, non-GMO and cruelty-free), and they look even better in our bathroom.

2. Bring clothes, not cash

This year’s London Fashion Week launched a ‘swap shop’, with the clothes on attendees’ backs used as currency. It’s a reminder that the sharing economy is an accessible way to reduce our carbon footprint.

3. Coffee upcycling

Coffee Supreme has launched a new recycling program which allows cafes to recycle their Coffee Supreme coffee bags and instant sachets for free, made possible by recycling partner TerraCycle. Customers can also drop off their Coffee Supreme packaging to select Christchurch and Wellington cafes, or to Coffee Supreme’s Auckland HQ.

A unique solution to an ongoing problem, Coffee Supreme’s packaging is upcycled into new items like garden beds and outdoor furniture.

4. Plants are beauty

Here at Good, we like beauty ingredients that don’t negatively impact on our health. All of our Best of Natural Awards contenders sell products that are cruelty-free, not tested on animals, and free from the ingredients on HealthPost’s red list

We’re currently using Biologi’s new BL Nourish Lip Serum, an office desk staple. The serum contains the 100% active and organic blood-red finger lime extract, and our lips feel so luscious and plump! No fillers needed here. The serum can be used as an overnight lip conditioner too.

5. All things vegan

Well-known brands modifying products to cater to the growing vegan market. Veganism is not a trend; it’s a multi-billion dollar industry that’s here to stay.

Speaking of vegan, did someone say Magnum Dairy Free? The new-look ice cream is made from pea protein and certified by Vegan Action. The ice cream is made using cocoa beans selected from international non-profit organisation The Rainforest Alliance Certifiedâ„¢ farm.

A step in the right direction, we’re following the dairy-free movement with great interest.
